okay so i want to talk about my chickens again
the silkies are doing good, they’re so damn cute but i cannot wait until they get older. it seems my… ehhh feeling towards baby animals is the same way with chickens. i just don’t care for baby animals. i don’t dislike them but it’s not the same as having a ‘teen’ animal/adult animal. i mean i like baby animals and stuff but i don’t really enjoy having them until they get older LOL.
hopefully the silkie babies will show more personality as they get older <3 as you can see, they are still nameless so far (i didn’t name my other chickens until i had everyone LOL sooo yeah).. but yeah so far, personality wise, all i get from them is the little blue one is a spaz- totally not into human affection. the little silver one is sleepy mc sleeper pants. and the white one is a mix of the two.
to my older babies… their voices are starting to change! they still peep a lot but they’re finally making clucking noises! i have also been keeping up with their pecking order and so far it seems to go in this order:
- lotus the easter egger
- ivy and iris the cornish rocks
- mallow the golden comet
- olive the golden comet
- nettle the golden comet
- teasel the golden comet
- berzillia the barred rock
it’s very interesting to watch them and observe the pecking order. ivy/iris and mallow are interchangeable because i am not sure about the three of them and who’s higher. olive and nettle.. i dunno who is above who but i am assuming olive is higher than nettle because she is higher than teasel. teasel and nettle may be interchangeable as well.
the cornish rocks (meat chickens).. well they are almost 8 weeks now. i can’t believe it’s been this long. but this means they’re about ready to be processed to be eaten. i’m really dreading it for the fact that i’m still attached because they were my first chickens (even though i have taken to calling them fatty/fatass instead of their actual names)
but… we have no choice. any longer than 8 weeks is pretty cruel from what i’ve heard and i can already see them deteriorating. they pant a lot (almost constantly) and they can hardly walk. :/ we never planned on getting these chickens but they were gifted to us and the only reason we got the others. so i don’t regret it. i just wish they weren’t meaties.
the golden comets are adorable and incessantly sweet. they just run up to me all the time and jump on me. they all love their chest pet and some of them (teasel and olive) like their back pet. nettle loves her chin pet and she sleeps a lot. teasel and olive are adventurous and try to jump out of the mini-coop a lot. mallow is pretty dominant over the others surprisingly.
i love how their colors are developing! olive is almost completely orange with very little white/cream. teasel is getting like olive but her feathers are a darker red than olive. though i admit, i sometimes mix the two up! mallow has dark feathers and orange feathers like the other two, but she looks like she’s half orange and half cream/white (her bum!). nettle is soo light. she’s like… a tan almost with lots of cream!
berzillia, the new chicken, is an absolute sweetie! i love her and lotus seems to have finally… started to accept her. she doesn’t chase or peck her nearly as often anymore but that’s because berzi is so… chill and relaxed and she is so reserved and definitely knows her place. she’s really easy to pick up usually and she’s just really awesome and just fits in perfectly!
laurel still has her ‘stink-eye’ and it seems it is permanent! more and more white is coming off of her and she’s starting to shine iridescent 8D it’s greenish color and it’s awesome. she likes her chest pet too and comes right up to me. lotus is still totally freaked out by people and i have to chase her to pick her up and she squawks when i do so but she is generally pretty sweet.
i love my flock <3
yesterday i forgot what snot was called and called it ‘nose saliva.’
i rode my bike 4 miles with my mom and gosh my arms are sore (i put a lot of pressure on them when bike riding, plus it’s a dirt road with lots of potholes!) and my legs are killing me (hill galore on the ride back x__x). walking up the stairs is a pain but walking down is LITERALLY like this:

don’t fall, don’t fall, don’t fall
but i sat outside with the chickens in the big pen like all day (they have to be supervised because there is no top to protect from predators and they can get out if they REALLY wanted to) and it was pretty amusing. i took lots of pictures!
So! I really went to Motorcity Comic Con (: It was pretty fun, definitely way bigger than I expected! A bit unorganized and wayyy packed, like, insanely so… But it had a lot of cool items that you could buy! But oh well, I guess I’m just used to Youmacon which is fairly set up (though I haven’t been since they added the Cobo Center..) and not as crowded.
There wasn’t any people I really wanted to see… besides Stan Lee but that experience is expensive as hell probably LOL. And from what I heard, he was being rushed so bad :C Poor dude. But my friend KD (the one in the picture with me) wanted to see a couple actors so yeah- behind my head in that picture is Nicholas Brendon from Buffy (which I’ve never seen).
I made one purchase while I was there- a frame with 11 Iron Man 3 Film Cells! Actual film from the movie- there’s even a sticker of Authenticity on the back of it. I was really hesitant but KD talked me into it and I’m really glad! It’s so cool and I doubt there’s another one with so much Tony, Pepperony, and ‘Iron Patriot’ in it! Excuse my reflection in the frame by the way…

[throws self to the floor]
i am going to comic con tomorrow and i should be really excited and i mean i am…
but idkk this whole chicken ordeal has me really really really upset
i hope the con is a good distraction
my dog is a little shit and stole old bread sticks and pizza from hungry howies outta the trash
and marvel is taking over my life again
so like my dad is a landscaper and he drives around a lot. he always tells me about roadkill that he didn’t have the time to pick up. today he brought me a skin.
a literal sun-tanned skin with barely any fur.
and when i say it was tanned, i’m being really fucking serious because it was thick, looked like leather, smelled like leather (but it also kind of smelled bad too).. and it was really hard to rip a chunk of fur off (i’ll put it in a jar or some shit, wanted SOMETHING from it).
it was a sweet thought, but it was weird. i’m pretty sure it was a raccoon, it was pretty hard to tell because who the hell knows how long it was sitting out there for it to be turned into hard-ass leather.
he thought there might have been a skull too but he hit it so it probably shattered. oh! and i could even see the freckles that the raccoon had on the.. ‘skin.’
hey if you haven’t seen iron man 3, be sure to tumblr savior it! cause i’m gunna spam the fuck outta y’all tomorrow

there was literally a coyote howling and barking and screaming right out of my window. i responded a couple times. i love yipping back at them!
guess who saw iron man 3 today?????? meeeee!!!! (with verticalforklift!)
i liked it but i still feel weird about it? i definitely didn’t dislike it by far, i just don’t think it has really sunk in and i really need to see it again. i think i was trying to hard to piece everything together because i knew so many spoilers… and i just think everyone hyped it up too much for me i dunno.
all i know is that i really liked tony angst though so yes
everyone was saying they didn’t like the whole mandarin thing and i dunno how i feel about it.. i didn’t see it coming for sure.
i want to discuss it with some of my friends who’ve seen it
like really bad
